My dear Henry
I have long been of opinion that
a Journey to Europe would be beneficial
to my health and have as constantly
felt anxious that you should accompany
me — I have ^been^ Uniformly desiourous th
fearfull that it would be considered
too great a sacrifise to your business
and have therefore omited to write
to you on the subject — But reflecting
that I would relieve you from any
expense and that a tour of this
description would add very
much to your accomplishment
as a public man — I conceive you
perhap never will have a better
time to impro[ ve ]
Reason: hole your mind
say start early in June and return
before the meeting of the Legislature
It has got to be a mere trifle to go.
Six months absence can be got
Over — We can make your dear
Mother
as pleasently Situated as they can
wish — I wrote to Judge Miller
week — There I have (1/2 a dozen
talking to me all the time) broke
ground on this subject blundering-
ly, to be sure but you may possibly
collect my ideas and if you think
it will answer I do not fear the
sacrafise of your business believing
you can soon recover that — Write
me on the Receipt of this
Yours Affectionately
