My dear Son
Imperious business calling
me to this City I have spent three
most unwholsome days & nights
almost under dross in the muck &
water of this busy place even thick
dark atmosphere and messer Clay
of Hanover scarcely equals it.
I write first to state that after
the severe indisposition and death
in Polidores
well except the cold I have taken
since my arrival here. Next
that our family put up a large Tea
Chest of nut for your little boys.
I brought it to Newburgh and for-
warded it to the care of Water Ward Esq
at Albany by the Baltimore to be
by him sent to you. Which I hope
you will receive safe.

subject of the Road and D B Wards suits
but for want of time and because
there are some pending and [ unsetted ]
