I was up to the capitol and saw Pa
Birth: 1801-05-16 Death: 1872-10-10
sworn in his
office. And I went into the Asssembly and saw some of
the officers ellected and heard the Message read but while
the Message was bei ^n^ g read Pa come home and let about
2 or 3 thousand people in the ho ^u^ se and they crowded in so
fast that they upset one of the tables. When I come back
from the Capitol I tried to get in I went up on
the stoop and could not get in nor I could not get
off of the stoop again any way except to jump
off of the side of the stoop so I jumped off of the
side and went around the house two or three times
trying to get in the house but after a while I got
in the kitchen window and upstairs where Mrs Dewitt
Birth: 1805-12-20 Death: 1842-05-05

was a back way then after a while, I got out of
the setting room window and went down to Mr Weeds
Birth: 1797-11-15 Death: 1882-11-22

and staid about and half hour then I come up home
and got in the kitchen window with about a dozen
boys at my heals as quick as I got in, another
boy got half way in then we shut the window down
on him then he began to squel to get out we kept
him there about a minute then we let him out
this is all I shall write I guess this time though
I wrote a letter bafck home and put a piece of
full of writing in it to write all I wanted
Your Nephew & cousin
Augustus H Seward
