Albany April 9. 1839
My dear Jennings
I went to Florida on Saturday night and returned to the
city this morning. Your letter of the first was handed to me as I was
leaving town. Have you not a copy of the contract with Underwood
I think I was to pay him the amount you specify. At all events
there is not the least ground to doubt his correctness and integrity.
You can therefore accept his draft.
I have since writing the above received your letter of a
subsequent date which I shall answer tomorrow if I have
opportunity. Until then I remain
Very Truly Yours
