My very dear Francis
When once in a long time you
pay us a visit I always feel when you
have left that the time of your stay was
too short – I feel that I have not taken the
pain I aught to make you happy –
The affliction of dear little Willy
to my distress – I hope you will take every
measure at the Eye Infirmary and ^where^ In,
to strengthen and restore his Eye –
Should the weather & my health
permit it would give me great plea-
sure to see you all before you leave
Albany – With love to all I am
Affectionately yours
