subject of some ateration in the liberation of
of the company for perpetuating the memo-
ry of Washingtons

The propriety of Perpetuating the mem-
ory of the illustrious Heroes of our revolution
and keeping in repair the mementos
of relicks of Independence are Subjects
I know near your heart
If the grounds at the Old Mansion
at Newburgh could be fitted up and
a decent Monument of Washington be
Erected it would do everlasting credit
to the county of Orange & State of New
York
