My dear Mrs. Seward,
A fortnight has elapsed since our pleasant vis-
it to Albany - & many times have we reverted to the kind-
ness & hospitality which we received there - & which will
ever be most gratefully remembered by us —
We found on our return, our own little group eagerly
expecting us - well & happy - which made me more
than half regret, not passing another day with you —
during the stay we did make however, I became so fa-
miliar & interested, that I often picture to myself, your
pleasant parlor, & more pleasant selves. Yes, each one of you,
from the benevolent Gov.r
to whom, by the way, I send a warm little coat - with
kisses whenever he wears it. And to yourself, a woolen
cap - which if not handsome - perchance, may be convenient
Mrs Seward
py to know her better - & hope to meet her again —
Give to the Gov. my kindest remembrance & love to Master
Frederick
M.A. Doane.
Mrs William H. Seward.
