My Dear Grandfather
I left Albany on Monday
morning the second day of May and arrived here
at one oclock, school did not begin until Tuesday
morning, there are 35 scholars, 10 of them are going to
West Point next month. I study Algebra, French and
English grammar, we get up at 5 oclock in the
morning and go to bed at 9 at night. The leaves
have been out on the trees for more than a week
and there are a great many birds here different
from what I have seen, Ma
she thought she would start for Auburn this
week, in her letter of the 8th, she also said that Pa
and Clarence
County to see Grandpa Seward
and sloops are running up and down the river
as thick as they were last fall when I came
