Monday June 119th
My dear Henry,

is here - came this
morning– I have had no letter from Augustus
Birth: 1826-10-01 Death: 1876-09-11

yet– I trust he is safe at West Point– Fred

attends school very steadily– Poor Willie
Birth: 1839-06-18 Death: 1920-04-29
was
much grieved yesterday about a poor little bird
which he found dead in the garden — after
fondling it for two days it was very hard for him
to consent to have it buried— he finally yielded
under the impression that it would thereby
be preserved from the ravages of worms– He
came to me with a tearful face after he had consigned
it to the care of Fred saying "the worms cannot get
my little bird now"— I thought it wicked to
correct the delusion which afforded him so much comfort
his eye continues slightly inflamed — your own
Frances
