Thursday morning Aug 4^th
My dear Sister,
A letter received from Henry yesterday has
[ a ] ltered all our arrangements– He wishes to come for me
next ^week^ that I may be there at the time of the Extra
Session - Clara has at length concluded to go with
me to remain two weeks– I cannot go next week
as our course of lectures is will not be completed
Henry cannot come for me the week after as Tuesday
is the 16^th so he must send some one - Fred does
not wish to go down so soon and proposes remaining
and making you a visit after I am gone - He
says he cannot go to Albany (as he intends remaining
there as long as Henry does) without seeing 'Aunty'
or if you will come out before we go he can either
come for you or return with you as you prefer -
I shall probably be away until the 1^st of Oct
I wish to be at home as early as that to attend
to the garden– I do not much like the idea

of going so soon but 2 weeks are not very materia[ l ]
I hope to be able to visit Orange County &
moving as soon as the adjournment of the Legi[ slature ]
will permit– Mrs Wright was here yester[ day ]
wishes very much to see you— Will you wri[ te ]
soon and let me know whow you decide- Fred is
quite impatient to know– I am afraid you will
be disappointed about Clara's visit but I know you
will agree with me in thinking she had better
improve this opportunity if she wishes once more to go
to the East– She will never make up her mind to
leave when I am gone and thinks it almost impossible
now- Willies eye is not materially better— Henry
I fear will think me wrong in adhering to the homeopathy
method of care - he Willie is so much confined to
the house that he looks pale! pray - Love to Frances,
I have no letter from Augustus this week and feel
anxious as his report speaks of slight indisposition
