Auburn Wednesday Sep 28
My dear Son,
I have this moment received your
letter saying you are not well which makes me
extremely anxious– Had I not been ill myself
I should by this time have been on my way
to West Point— I have been confined to my
room nearly two weeks with a severe cold
and an affection of my liver– am still
unable to sit up all day– I hope I may
have strength to come to you next week
in the mean time do write me a line
when you receive this and let me know if
you continue to get better— if your
diarrhea continues I wish you would
make use of the homeopathic remedies
you Grandpa
Birth: 1772-04-11 Death: 1851-11-13
has found great benefit
from the use of them in this disease

You say I need not bring the comforter
but do not say whether I shall bring another
pair of blankets which your regulations
require you to have– have you supplied
yourself with them there or shall I bring them
I am so unwell that I have given up
going to New York and shall return imme-
ediately home from West Point– Do not
fail to write a line as soon as you
receive this— if you are not well enough
ask your room mate
Unknown
to write for you–
May God bless and protect you
your affectionate Mother
F. A. Seward
