Samuel
stated was to inform me that a judgment
had been entered against them and that he
had come to bring me a sertificate of deposit
from the Orange County Bank of $2000
and deposit $500 more in two days, and wished me
to stop the suit with out further trouble -
To write on and obtain a bill of the Cost and
he would pay it instantly -
This I refused to do but engaged to write to
you and procure a statement of their whole business
to a certain day and then I would Settle with
them - Now I have no doubt the old gentleman will
perform every word he has promised me
He appears to dred an Execution and took it hard
that I would not receive his deposits and stop the
suits, will you please make out a statement
of their whole business and send me; in order
that I may settle with him - send a draft for your
cost and thus relieve him from the agony he appears
to be in, as he has the whole of the money by
