Let me assure you
my sweet friend it is no small disapp
-ointment to me that I am prevented from
seeing you this evening by the uncomfort
-able effects of a most shocking cold with
which I am severely suffering.
I find Miss Burney’s
so increasingly interesting in the capacity
of Wife and Mother I will venture the
consequences of sending you the last
of her diary
You will please read it as
soon as possible. Where the mark is, you
will find the place where the number
you have ends. If you have Boswell’s
Life of Johnson
-ing it. I wish I could get Doct Burney’s
Life.

In looking over the volume I brought
from your house the other Evening—
a letter of yours fell from it
You are too well acquainted with
the reason of not being urged to visit
me more frequently to need an explana
-tion. However believe me I shall
ever be most happy to see you
Yours Truly
H. Pitney
