Auburn Nov 18th 1849
My dear Son,
I yesterday received your letter of the
21st of October – you are very kind to write so
frequently – I believe I have not yet answered
your letter previous, of for the preceding week –
The truth is I am so hurried and bewildered
by the multiplicity of my employments that
I hardly know what I have done – We are
now all ready to go to Washington – we leave
the day after tomorrow – Your father
Birth: 1801-05-16 Death: 1872-10-10
myself
Cousin Frances Worden
Birth: 1826-12-12 Death: 1909-08-24
, Fanny
Birth: 1844-12-09 Death: 1866-10-29
and Abbey
Birth: 1822 Death: 1895-09-16

We stop two days in Albany two in New
York
and three or four in Philadelphia
Frederick
Birth: 1830-07-08 Death: 1915-04-25
Caroline
Birth: 1834-07-25 Death: 1922-02-28
and Willie
Birth: 1839-06-18 Death: 1920-04-29
will remain
here until I get the house at Washington so
arranged that they can be taken care of there –
Grandpa
Birth: 1772-04-11 Death: 1851-11-13
thinks he will come down about
February – John
Certainty: Possible
is to come with him – Aunty
Birth: 1803-11-01 Death: 1875-10-03

will remain with Grandpa three or four weeks
when Aunt Clara
Birth: 1793-05-01 Death: 1862-09-05
thinks she will be with

until he comes to Washington – I think he will
come if he keeps well – The imperfect state
of his eye sight makes it difficult for
him to get about – Fred goes ot out
with him in the evening and returns with
him unless he is sure of other company –
When Fred leaves our man Denis
Birth: 1827
will go
out with him in the evening – I am afraid
he will miss Fred very much as he reads for
him - or Aunty will r read for him while
she stays with him – He is so old that
I feel unpleasantly about leaving him for so
many months but it seems my lot to have
my home divided – I hope when I get settled
I shall be able to write you longer and
more intelligible letters – Do think about
meeting me at Washington in time to come
home with me in April if it is practicall
Aunt Clara and Aunty send love –
Aunty came last night – Frances is to come
over with H. Chesebro
Birth: 1822-02-03 Death: 1888-11-24
tomorrow –
May God bless you –
your affectionate
Mother
