Auburn January 31. 1850.
My dear Uncle,
Mr William H. Miller
to inquire, concerning the payment of principal, on his Bond and
Mortgage, which falls due sometime during the ensuing March.
The amount of principal, which by the condition of the Bond is
then to be paid, is I believe $150.00 with interest on the whole
of sum secured by the mortgage. Mr Miller says, if it is not
absolutely necessary, they would prefer not to pay the principal,
but, if you require it, they will pay both principal & interest
promptly. I told him I would write to you about the matter
and acquaint him with the result.
