Washington July 20. 1850
My Dear Frances
Augustus
shall continue to see you and him before
he leaves the country.
Your letter to me & one to Frederick
made both our hearts light yesterday –
Tomorrow is the commencement at Georgetown &
Caroline
with her
Mr Webster
then the war begins.
The compromise drags toward its
fate, and then my reprieve comes –
I attended Miss Bremers
last night. She leaves Washington to day.
I send you Miss Grace Greenwood’s
letter –
Ever your own Henry
