Auburn October 22d, 1850.
My Dear Sons
Birth: 1828-10-07 Death: 1897-07-24

Your respective letters from Paris have been
received and in compliance with the requests contained in
them, I have this day instructed my agent
Unknown
in New York
to place to the credit of each of you with Baring Brothers
Five Hundred dollars which will undoubtedly be done
without delay.
We are at home for the recess of Congress and all
are well. My own health is returning. Your cousin Miss
Worden
Birth: 1826-12-12 Death: 1909-08-24
was married last week and her wedding party
here will be given tomorrow evening.
We are all gratified by your letters which we
think give evidence that you are traveling wisely and
well. It seems proper that I should say that not much
time can be profitably devoted at your present ages to
foreign travel, since it is wise to fix yourselves in business as
early as may be, nor is the future provided for either of
you sufficient to warrant great expense in seeing foreign
countries. I have concluded therefore to advise that you so
regulate your affairs as to return home without further
remittance. May God have you in his holy Keeping.
Your affectionate Father
William H Seward.
