Saturday morning 28th –
My dear Henry,
I send you the Journal which came
this morning as you may miss it – Were not
Grandpa
I would send the Journal & Tribune to you
Lazette
sent for her – I am alone with Grandpa &
the children
– Mr Carter has gone with
Grandpa
this morning to Skaneateles – Do you see the
Herald? – the speculations about Gen Scott’s
nomination are amusing enough –
I know you must be very weary of this protracted
trial – I hope you will not get sick – I am
hoping some cousin
to day to help read for Grandpa – Fred
writes that William Kents
I wish Fred could come home for a day
or two about the 4th – it grieves me
to have you both away when the garden
is so beautiful – Fanny
father would answer her little letters –
Your own Frances
