The Honorable Wm H Seward

My Dear Brother Henry
It is now
nearly six years since the death of our Father
Birth: 1768-12-05 Death: 1849-08-24
and I find myself much embarrassed in my
pecuniary affairs from the fact that there
has been no distinct understanding or settle-
ment with his Executors respecting the course
which they intend to pursue with me ^as^ an
heir of the estate.
It is quite impossible for me to live longer
in this manner and I write to enquire of
you as an Executor upon what principle
you propose to settle with me and allow
me to draw funds from the estate and
in what amounts
Your very earliest attention to my en-
quiry will greatly oblige
