My dear Son,

lonely without them –
Father

will miss Anna
very much – she was al-
ways well and ready to see
company – Last week father
had a party of 200 gentlemen

All the Anti Nebraska

once a week at the capitol

from N.Y. C. & Enquirer giving some
account of the last meeting
which Father and Fred attended
I could tell you many
political speculations which
it is not altogether safe
to write – nothing positive
will be done about the
Presidential Candidate
until the Philadelphia
convention in June – In the
mean time many persons are
talked of – a new one about
every two weeks – Mr. Greeley
Birth: 1811-02-03 Death: 1872-11-29

is still here – Gen Webb
Birth: 1802-02-08 Death: 1884-06-07

I suppose Fred’s letters
will reach you about the
same time as this – We
hear nothing further from
the War Department –
I am not yet able to fix any
time when I shall go home
but hope to get away in May

Aunty

writes in better spirits
and I think may come here
before I go North – Mr
Wilkinson
Birth: 1817-05-09 Death: 1889-12-02
was to come here
for a week or two after
Fred completed his visit
so we look for him this week –
Mr. Sacket
Birth: 1790-08-09 Death: 1865-06-02
thinks he
cannot leave home this Spring –
Captain Palmer

yours –

I had an interview
with Capt. Woodhull
Birth: 1813-04-02 Death: 1863-02-19

the other day who came to
look at his pretty house –
He seemed much disturbed
by many things – I did
not tell him all I thought
but I think he saw enough
to be satisfied that he had
suffered some imposition
with which he did not
seem well pleased – I presume
he would like to occupy the
house as Mr Fletcher
Unknown
told
Father when we could rent
another – to which father
replied that he did not
wish to change. Will
Birth: 1839-06-18 Death: 1920-04-29

grows impatient to go home –
Fanny
Birth: 1844-12-09 Death: 1866-10-29
is not well for a day
or two – better to day and sends
love – We cant help hoping
you may get here before we
leave – May God bless you
Mother
