Auburn Dec.12
My dear Henry
I have your two letters
of the 8th The check I have
sent to Mr. Van Tuyle's
Birth: 1812 Death: 1876
and he
has given me a receipt —
It was my fault that the other
bills were so unintelligible — I
understood them perfectly but
did not until after they were
sent — remember that I had not
fully explained them — The $180
79 - was money paid by Mr Van
Tuyle for work and various arti-
cles for my house — the $371—
is for lumber furnished by Mr. Van
Tuyl himself — I gave you the
items on a slip of paper — copied
from the estimate he has made
so that the whole bill is $551
79—
All well here —

I have sent your other letter
to Mr. Warden
Unknown
who will be
glad to find you approve of his
course
Affectionately
Sister
