Dear Mother,
I am still at the same
place where My last letter was sent
from nothing new has transpired here
since my last. It is nearly a month
since I have had a mail so
that I am quite behind hand
in the way of news in the world.
Quite a fine ship went ashore on the
Reef about 2 weeks ago loaded with
cotton bound from New Orleans to
Liverpool . One of the wrecking
vessels that went to assist her after
having taken off a load of cotton
caught fire and burnt to the
waters edge.
I suppose Aunt Clara
Birth: 1793-05-01 Death: 1862-09-05
has arrived
safely at home before this time
Aunty's
Birth: 1803-11-01 Death: 1875-10-03
house gets along faster than
She expected. Give my love to
All, Please send me a copy of the last
Coast Survey Report
Your affectionate
Son Augustus
