Albany, April 5th
My dear Father,
The Young Men’s
Association are making ready
for a large sized celebration of
the 4th of July, which they are
confident will eclipse all other
celebrations, past present & to come,
and they have been to me to
know if you cannot be induced
to deliver an Oration. I have
told them no, but nothing will
satisfy them short of your answer
over your own hand. Will you
write me?
Affectionately your son
Frederick
