Attended public worship at the Church of the
Temple – It in the Court of the Temple – Once
the home of the Knights Templars and the
Church built by that order – in or before the times of
the Crusades – It fell into neglect and debil-
itation many years ago but it has been re-
novated in exact adherence to the original archi-
tecture – In the nave an medieval effigies of
Crusading Chief & the Arches and windows
embellished with monuments pictures and
inscriptions in Norman Latin curiously Henry
Stephen Richard John, and other Kings

younger travelers must supply that field now – The
whole morning service was sung or chanted with
the aid of a full and perfect choir – and I
need not say that it was vastly impressive
After church I strolled several hours through
St James Park, Hyde Park and the Kensington
Gardens until dinner time. All the world is
familiar with their fame though their attraction
can be conceived only by those who visit there
