down sick and do not go out
much yet.

very well and growing in mis-
chief and size each day. I be-
lieve that the other families
are very well and moving on
about as usual.
We have been repairing and
altering our house, and leave
no thing added to its com-
fort and convenience. You would
scarcely know the house as you
past except from its location
Miss Hotchkiss

is in the other room playing a game of chess
with Julia. She is a very pleas-
ant woman, and I think a de-
voted teacher, we like her very
much.

staying at the Institute they
leave for Rhode Island in the
morning, they have made us
a call this evening.
I suppose that you are very
glad that election is over, and
certainly with the result, but
than what is South Carolina
and the South to do, it looks
rather squarely, but I am led
to believe it will soon blow
over in some shape
I do not know that there
is any thing about here which
would interest you, our village is
improving slowly, like every other
place in this changing world
the Inhabitants are changing
there are very few here now
that you ever knew.

pleasant visit from Clarence
