Auburn April 15 th 61
My dear Fred
Please say to Father
Birth: 1801-05-16 Death: 1872-10-10

that he need give himself no uneasiness
in regard to our capital ($5,000) as it
is invested with the very best securities.
Our principle aim at present will be to
keep it safe at a small interest rather
than risk any thing in the slightest degree.
If I can be of any possible service
to him at Washington or elsewhere I
will come on immediately, dont fail to
let me know if I can.
Col Carpenter
Birth: 1821 Death: 1885-10-25
wishes me to say that
he & his brother
Birth: 1815 Death: 1899-05
will gladly come to
Washington if they can serve Father
in any way whatsover.
Affectionately Yours
Wm H Seward Jr
