I have recd two
letters from Europe
—& also a third
addressed to a Sena-
tor
me, complaining
very strongly of the
[bottom Margin] F. W. Seward.

at Leghorn. He is
said to be thoroughly
committed to the
side of Rebellion.
It is my impression
that he is superseded.
can you drop me a
line to let me know

accepts Candia. Mr
Mountfort
who was there formerly
thinks he has a lien
on the place.
