Tuesday Dec 3rd
My dear Mother,
Mr Pomeroy
Birth: 1824-12-31 Death: 1905-03-23
brought me your note
last evening. We are
glad to learn you
are so near us, but
I wish very much you
were here. Father
Birth: 1801-05-16 Death: 1872-10-10
talked of going to
Phila on Saturday to
meet you but was
unable to leave here.
Do you know when
Frances Chesebro
Birth: 1826-12-12 Death: 1909-08-24
will
come? I have written
to Miss Dunscombe to
come & make a visit
but did not specify
any time for according
to my recollection it
would not ^be^ agreeable
to either her or Fran-
ces
Birth: 1844-12-09 Death: 1866-10-29
to be here together.
Father wants Miss
Dunscombe to spend
the Winter.
I have the guest-
bedroom nearly in order.
Maggie Boyd
Birth: 1812-10-29 Death: 1889-10-09
will go
home whenever I find
an escort. I found so
many cards on my
return & the weather
has been so bad that
I have difficulty keep
ing up with my visits.
The city is filled with
the families of officers,
there are very few Sen-
ators or members wives.
Houses are scarce and
the Hotels as full as
during an Inaugura-
tion. This promises to
be a turbulent session
of Congress, much
talking & little business.
Shall I write to Fran-
ces? We are all well.
Affectionately your
daughter Anna.
The enclosed letter camethis morning.
