Monday morning –
Dec 9th
My dear Son
In my great joy of
seeing you all and so
well, I forgot two questions
of importance to others
which I had in charge –
Some weeks ago an adver-
tisement appeared in the
Auburn paper offering for sale
a part of lot No 46
Aurelius for unpaid interest –
That is the number of
Aunt Clara’s
Birth: 1793-05-01 Death: 1862-09-05
lot – I did
not remember it at the
time but as the boundaries
were similar to hers
it attracted the attention
of Mr. Austin
Birth: 1831-08-31 Death: 1886-04-07Certainty: Probable

the certificate I find
hers is a part of lot no 46
She is much troubled
about it & wishes you to
make some inquiry of the
State Department in Albany
They have made two or
three mistakes there in
calculating the interest on
that lot, though I think
it hardly possible that
such a step as this could
be taken – You may
remember that the last payment
of interest was offered last
Jany but refund on the
ground that it had already
been paid – Will you
inquire if the next
is due? –

Charles Warden
Birth: 1833-07-10 Death: 1883-08-30
wished me
to ask you if he would ^could^
receive any pay for the
time he has been ill – I
think he is much straitened
and doubt whether he
has money to go to Washington –
I ought to have written
this before I left home –
I hope you all arrived
home safely and that you
enjoyed the day half
as much as Fanny
Birth: 1844-12-09 Death: 1866-10-29
&
I – To day is Fanny’s
17th birth day – she says
she celebrated it
yesterday – Love to all
with God’s blessings
