Washington, Octr. 2d 1863
My dear Sir,
I have your note of
the 28th ultimo the letters for
China, which I will forward with
pleasure.
Will

has been very sick,
dangerously so for some days, but to day
he is decidedly better, and we now hope
that his recovery will go on steadily,
though it may be some weeks yet before
he is able to return to duty.
Affectionately Yours,
F.W. Seward
