My dear Mrs. Seward,
Eliza says she
was brought up in the District
of Columbia
, & when her master
found out that the District was
to be free, he took all if his
slaves to Calvert Co . She was
not a Virginian, & was mistaken.
Her master's name was Belt
Birth: 1832 Death: 1918

& he is not loyal – Her old
master

is dead, & his son claims
her I suppose –
Her children
