March 1865,
I write this for you my daughter
It in the event of my not being able to
talk with you on this subject. After
mature consideration of the matter & supposing
all parties to consent I advise that your
father
house should unite with Fred
somewhere on the Hudson or any other place
they should prefer a house which will
be a home for you all like that in
Washington where you all seem happy.
I would remain in this ^house^ so much as
Aunty
Wm.
be done with Aunty's consent. I think
Wm. intends making his home in Auburn.
I doubt whether my other children would
find it so agreeable here as we who have
never lived elsewhere. Of course if Augustus
or Frederick prefer this place they are
entitled to it before Wm. but I do not
think they would. Should I see you all
again as I hope, we will talk it over together.
