Editorial Note

This is a fragment of a letter
to day but have been sick with
headache. Henry
Birth: 1801-05-16 Death: 1872-10-10
is more
comfortable, the swelling is
leaving his face though
the soreness of the jaw
continues. I am sorry not
to write more, but will
tomorrow. Will
Birth: 1839-06-18 Death: 1920-04-29
told
me if I sent my letter
yesterday it would only
lie over in N.Y. so I
send it by him. I hope
you keep well. It was
Fanny
Birth: 1844-12-09 Death: 1866-10-29
in the carriage,
a signal mercy that
they were not all killed.
The horses had entered the lawn
when they were stopped a few
rods more would have dashed
the carriage against the
corner of the barn.
Love to all your own
Sister
