My dearest Sister
I am glad to get your
letter of Monday which
came yesterday. I have not
been able to write for the
last three days - neuralgia
and nausea together
unfit me for anything.
I have only been able
to go to Henry
Birth: 1801-05-16 Death: 1872-10-10
's room
occasionally and to sit
an hour morning and
evening by the side of
our dear boy
Birth: 1830-07-08 Death: 1915-04-25
.

His pale, patient face is
never out of my mind.
The surgeons think he
is doing well now, but
there is no security against
a return of bleeding.
Dr Wilson
 Death: 1889-03-22
was obliged
to leave for a few days
this morning to t attend
to some medical duties
incident to his office which
he has long neglected
to be with Fred. We are
sorry to have him away
he has been so constantly
with Fred. Dr Norris
Birth: 1828-03-09 Death: 1895-11-10

and the Surgeon General
Birth: 1817-07-21 Death: 1883-04-05

will supply his plan.

Henry has gone to a cabinet
meeting. Fanny
Birth: 1844-12-09 Death: 1866-10-29
is to drive
with him when he returns.
He says he wrote you a
letter with his lame arm
yesterday. Love to all
Your own Sister
