Florida March 28th 1866
Dear Brother
Last fall when you were on here I
tried to Get a few minuets private
conversation with you in regard to my fam-
ily affairs which need some explanation
two years ago when I moved here we had
some $1800 Dollars which I told Mr
Grier

requesting him to name a sui-
table sum & Pay bills from petty so that
we could buy for Cash I paid bills till my
money was gone in the belief that Mr
Grier would repay but bills are very mu-
ch behind. I waited for Clothing very long
& obtained a suit for which I am threatned
with a Prosecution The Merchants

not take a bill to Mr Grier for Collec-
tion
Last winter & even the year before
I wanted hay I could not get it of Mr
Grier ^when^ they were Carting yours to Goshen
for sale I was obliged to pay five Dolla[ r ]

per ton More than Mr Grier got for it
before Carting it to Goshen.
Last summer & the year before I raised
sixty bushels of Corn all of which goes
to the support & maintenance of the fam-
ily

Law I fail to see it in that light.
I feel that your time is not your own
that your responsibilities are very great
but your being the Acting Executor to
that I ho will I hope you will do me
and my family the honor of to make

As I am still able to earn some
thing for myself I am thinking of an
arrangement to leave home for the
Summer for a Putting up a Telegrapt
line to St Louis .
unless some arrangement can be made
to relieve me of the feelings & the cons
tant running to Goshen to recieve a
Promise made to be repeated hoping
that you will write very soon
