Dear Augustus. Are
you coming North this
Summer? My affairs
personally are in that
condition that I would
like your advice and
sympathy. Without
any Father
Birth: 1797-03-06 Death: 1856-02-16
or near male
relative I stand quite
alone and I readily need
some mans advice. My
way through this life
has been rather harsh,
though I have tried
hard to bear it. but
now my health is
giving way and I need
help advice and sym-
pathy. I do not want
to go to strangers
but I must if you are

not coming North
soon. I must get
away from the life
I am leading and
the influences I am
under or I shall go
crazy but I cannot
write. I am sorry to
hear Fred
Birth: 1830-07-08 Death: 1915-04-25
is poorly
again. Anna
Birth: 1834-03-29 Death: 1919-05-02
too. Fanny
Birth: 1844-12-09 Death: 1866-10-29

says is miserable, but
they will both improve
by rest. Fanny is not well
but I do not think she
has any actual disease
about her. If she
could have a complete
change go somewhere
and get among calm
people. And most of
all she needs a good
sensible nurse, waiting
woman to be with her

all the time. Some
one trustful, sensible
and kind
Affectionately your Cousin
Frances
