My dear Uncle,
I hope I do not intrude
too much upon your seclusion, but I feel
I must write you a few lines to express
to you my heartfelt sympathy for you
in your recent affliction. It is always
painful to part with those we love, but
I think it seems particularly trying in
your case to part with one, so full
of love and sympathy for you in
your life of loneliness and care. The
only one you had to take that tender interest
in your comfort which is such a blessing.
But I am sure it must be a great com-
fort to you that she
Birth: 1844-12-09 Death: 1866-10-29
was so well prepared
to enter the better and happier life of

another world, and that the very means
which makes your home so desolate is
that which gives her the greatest of blessings
and happiness. Eternal Life, and glory.
I hope my dear Uncle God will sustain
and strengthen you in this great bereavement.
He has promised Strength for every time
of need, and I trust you may experience
the comfort of his precious promises.
Fannie has left you, ^is^ not lost to you, only
gone before. God grant that in due time
you may again behold your loved ones.
Where there will be no more parting, but
where you will forever bask in the Sun
of Righteousness.
Mr Scharff
Birth: 1834-02-26 Death: 1868-07-13
joins me in kind expressions
of sympathy to yourself and family.
Affectionately your niece
Fannie A Scharff.
Newark. Nov 8th / 66.
