Washington May 1,
My dear Jeanette
It is a bright morning, this of
the May day, and I am glad to learn
that my grandson
am quite in favor of that “journey” and I
wish that I could be one of the party.
We are all awaiting the result of the
great trial – beyond which we can now
make no definite calculations – love to the
children.
Your Affectionate Father

Washington May 1,
My dear Jeanette
It is a bright morning, this of
the May day, and I am glad to learn
that my grandson
Birth: 1864-11-10
is doing so well – Iam quite in favor of that “journey” and I
wish that I could be one of the party.
We are all awaiting the result of the
great trial – beyond which we can now
make no definite calculations – love to the
children.
Your Affectionate Father
