Biography
Thomas Davenport was a First Lieutenant United States Army. Originally buried at Oak Hill Cemetery at his death in 1887, but his body was moved to Arlington Cemetery on April 12, 1906. He graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1872 and served in the Indian Wars as Second Lieutenant of the 9th United States Cavalry from 1872-1886. In 1886 he was transferred to the Fourth Artillery and was promoted to First Lieutenant. He died on May 6, 1887 at St. Elizabeth's Insane Asylum in Washington D.C.
