John Johnson Jr. was the son of John Johnson, a Chancellor of Maryland from 1821-1824. John Johnson Jr. was the last Chancellor of Maryland when the office was abolished in 1851. 
Married Mary Johnson, had two children: Mary Johnson and John Johnson III. 
Johnson published "Reports of cases argued and determined in the Court of Appeals of Maryland".
