Sister of Marion Townsend (1827-19140302). They both lived in Auburn Ward 3, Cayuga, New York with their brother Edward. According to the baptismal document, Eliza was born to Samuel and Betsey Irish on November 2, 1818. She and three of her siblings (William, Sarah, John) were baptised in July 1820. Another brother, Edward, was baptised on July 21, 1821. Eliza and Marion were both mentioned in Frances Miller Seward's letter of December 5, 1861 as having come to visit her.
