Reverend Doctor Charles Henry Hall (son of Charles Hall and Margaret Catherine Reid) was born November 07, 1820 in Augusta, GA, and died April 25, 1895 in Brooklyn, NY. He married Elizabeth Margaret Ames on September 10, 1857, daughter of George Christian Ames and Hester Walter Milby. Wrote paper "The Dutch and The Iroquois" 1882. FIRST MARRIAGE WAS TO ANNIE M. CUMMING OF AUGUSTA, GA ON MARCH 2, 1848 AT ST PAUL'S CHURCH IN AUGUSTA GA-THEY HAD A SON WHO DIED IN WASHINGTON D.C.- BY HIS SECOND MARRIAGE TO LIZZIE AMES WHO WAS DAUGHTER OF GEO C. AMES. HE HAD 3 CHILDREN (ALL GIRLS), WIFE ANNIE CUMMING WAS CONFIRMED AT ST PAUL'S EPISCOPAL CHURCH ON SUNDAY AFTER ASCENSION DAY, MAY 16, 1847. ATTENDED NEWTON, ANDOVER AND GRADUATED FROM YALE IN 1842 WITH HIGH HONORS. SERVED EPIPHANY CHURCH IN WASHINGTON D.C. WHERE JEFFERSON DAVIS WAS MEMBER THEN WENT TO CHURCH OF THE HOLY TRINITY, BROOKLYN NY WHERE HE SERVED AS PASTOR FOR 25 YEARS. PREACHED HENRY WARD BEECHER'S FUNERAL. DIED OF A STROKE. HIS FIRST MINISTRY WAS AT HUNTINGTON, L.I., THEN TO WEST POINT TO SERVE AS CHAPLAIN THEN TO ST. JOHN'S CHURCH, JOHN'S ISLAND, S.C. THEN CHURCH OF THE EPIPHANY IN WASHINGTON D.C. LINCOLN AND STANTON OFTEN HEARD HIM PREACH AND STANTON PLACED A DESK IN HIS OFFICE AT HIS DISPOSAL WHERE HE ATTENDED TO HIS WORK FOR THE RELEASE OF PRISONERS. [Charles Hall Descendants.FTW]
