Biography

William Johnson was a Supreme Court Reporter from 1806-1823. He graduated from Yale College in 1788, and became a lawyer in NYC. He was a part of the founding of the New York Historical Society. He married Maria Templeton in 1809, with whom he had four children. He published "Reports of the cases argued and determined in the supreme court of judicature and in the court for the trial of impeachments and the correction of errors, in the state of New York from 1806 to 1823", as well as several other state reports.
