The footnotes (pgs. 263-264) of Ronald P. Formisano’s For the People (consulted via Google Books) mentions a Seth Hunt in regard to Seward: “Seth Hunt, Keene, N.H., to William H. Seward, Sept. 19, 1831, Seward Papers, Rush Rhees Library, University of Rochester, Rochester, NY; Seth Hunt, Boston, to William H. Seward, August 6, 1831, Seward Papers.” 

The finding aid for the Seward Papers lists several letters between Hunt and WHS. 

Should this man's identity be investigated further in the Seward Papers at RBSC?
