Edwin Weyburn Goodwin
Birth: 10-1800
Death: 9-13-1845
Biography
"Edwin Weyburn Goodwin was an itinerant miniature and portrait painter in upstate New York. During his fifteen year career, ca. 1830-1845, he painted approximately 800 portraits. His son, Richard La Barre Goodwin, was a landscape, portrait and still-life painter; best known as a painter of fish and game. Until ca. 1880, Richard La Barre Goodwin, like his father, was an itinerant painter of portraits in upstate New York." Goodwin is mentioned in 18380803FMS_WHS1. Apparently the talk is that he made Weed look "too stern" in Weed's new portrait.
