Samuel Townsend is mentioned in 18380825GMG_WHS1 as a supernumerary to the delegates for the Utica convention. He most certainly lived in Orange; all the other men listed in this letter are "Seward men" of Orange County. In the History of Orange County, there is a Supervisor/Town Clerk of Cornwall listed in 1838 as "Samuel Townsend". From Find-A-Grave, the only Samuel Townsend deceased in Orange County is listed as buried in Cornwall! What luck.
