Mentioned in 18651113WHS_FAS. WHS writes "I dine today with Sir Frederick Burr in farewell." 
Born 1827 in NY state, moved with family to the western American territory. Remained in the American west into his adulthood working specifically with surveying the expanding pacific railroad."Numerous documents (Butte Miner July 27, 1876, etc) identify him as an engineer, very likely with the status of his father." Moved back east, "though the timing is unclear, Burr next moved back East, as the 1880 census finds Burr living on a farm in Virginia...by 1882 Fred Burr had been appointed Postmaster at Westmoreland."
