Biography
Theodosia Bartow Burr Alston was the daughter of Colonel Aaaron Burr, 3rd Vice President of the United States. She married Joseph Alston in 1801, with whom she had one son, Aaron Burr Alston. Theodora and Joseph were the first couple on record to honeymoon at Niagara Falls, NY. Her son died from fever, possibly malaria, at age 10. Theodosia perished at sea in December 1812/January 1813. The boat she was on left Charleston, S.C., headed to New York, and was never seen again.
