Biography

Benjamin Wright was the cheif engineer during the construction of the Erie Canal. He resigned in 1827 and took a position as the chief engineer of the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal from 1828- 1831. Early in his career he also served as a Lesgislator and a county Judge.
