Benjamin Franklin Sanford was born in Oneida County, NY. He attended the Cazenovia Seminary. He later moved to Ohio where he became an editor. He married Lucinda (nee Griffin) Sanford. He is mentioned in Frances letter to Lazette as working with Henry, and also serving as tutor for Frederick William Seward and Augustus Henry Seward intermittently.
